Second Annual Global Directory Awards to be Given at EDM07, the European Directory and Search Services Conference

London (PRWeb) January 26, 2007 -- Whitaker Associates has announced that the annual Global Directory Award (GDA) program is being expanded into two categories: a "People's Choice" award and an "Innovation" award. The People's Choice award, given last year for the first time, will be chosen this year by delegates at the conference. The Innovation award, which will be given for the first time this year, will be awarded to the product or service that demonstrates the greatest innovation in this rapidly changing market.

This is the second year of the Global Directory Award program. The 2006 recipient of the "People's Choice" award was Il Numero for their "892 892" service in Italy.

"The Innovation award is being added this year in recognition of the opportunities that the phenomenal growth of Internet search, social networking, and mobile service is having on the traditional directory markets," according to Stuart M.
