Healthcare Executive Helen Chang Joins Integrated Project Management Company: IPM Continues to Expand its Healthcare Team

BURR RIDGE, Ill. (Business Wire EON) March 4, 2008 -- "We're excited to have a professional of Helen's caliber on board," said IPM president and CEO, C. Richard Panico. "Her in-depth, on-the-ground experience in hospital administration will enhance our ability to provide clients the highest quality service as we continue to grow our healthcare presence." IPM helps organizations become more efficient and effective, including improving processes to reduce costs and increase operational quality.

In her 10 years at UPMC, Ms. Chang held a range of positions where she led strategic and operational direction for an organization in the throes of dramatic growth. As vice president, System-wide Quality Management, she launched initiatives that raised the quality of patient treatment across 11 acute-care hospitals. As executive director, Institute for Performance Improvement (held briefly in tandem with her vice president role), Ms. Chang also led efforts to define and improve the results of care management in all UPMC acute-care hospitals. Previously, she served as vice president of operations, UPMC Health Plan, where she provided strategic re-direction and drove improvements in claims processing, information systems and customer services. Early in her career, Ms. Chang was a senior planning analyst at Stanford University Medical Center, her first position in healthcare, which ultimately became her passion.

Ms. Chang earned a bachelor of arts in economics from Harvard University, and subsequently achieved an M.B.A. and master's degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Iowa.
